F'ing Up & Moving Forward

We all fuck up. It's inevitable. We're human. We make mistakes.

I am no stranger to messing up, doing wrong and regretting decisions I have made. Is anyone?

Often the problem isn't that we make mistakes, it's that we unwillingly hurt those around us in the process. I'm a firm believer that if you never make any mistakes in your life, you will never grow as a person. You will never learn. I often sit here and wonder why my life isn't 'perfect'. Why don't I have the perfect job? Why don't I have the perfect figure? Why don't I have the perfect anything? But no matter how often I may think that, the truth is, is that if everything was perfect and went swimmingly in life it would be a rather boring one to live.

I think it's good to make mistakes. It's good to fuck things up sometimes. It helps you learn, grow and become a better person for it. But, what I have learnt is that it's not okay to damage relationships, friendships and those around you. There's nothing worse than fucking up and destroying those that you love dearest. How do you come back from that? How do you prove you can change? It's not always a simple answer. In fact, it rarely ever is. However, it does no good to dwell on the past.

The past is the past. We can't go back in time, we can't change what happened but we can make sure nothing like it will ever happen again. You can give your word, give promises but actions speak louder than words and sometimes the only way to prove you can and will change is by doing and not saying. Of course, apologies and admitting you were wrong can help but growing up, thinking about others before yourself and thinking of the implications of your words and actions in the future will go a lot further than a few apologies ever will. It won't be easy and there will be no quick fix but if you're willing to make things right and become a better person for it, nothing will get in your way.
