My January Favourites

It seems like only yesterday it was Christmas. It's crazy how quickly January has flown by but despite how fast-paced it has been, I've still had many opportunities to try and buy new things along the way...

First up is my Paco Rabanne Olympea fragrance. My boyfriend had bought this for me for Christmas and I couldn't be more in love with it! It smells soo gorgeous and even came with a body lotion too.

Next is my brand new vanity case. This little beauty is from Amazon and if I remember correctly was only £24.99. It's a lovely baby pink colour with silver flowers all over and fits perfectly on top of my dressing table without making it look too over crowded.

There are plenty of little compartments within the vanity case including the main section at the bottom and other little sections I keep my miniatures in.

I thought it was about time I jumped on the UD Setting Spray and I'm so glad I did. I purchased this with a gift card I had on NYE and used it that night. I couldn't believe how flawless my make up was and it didn't budge one little bit!

January was the month of Estee Lauder looovin' as I had purchased their Double Wear foundation after hearing lots of great things and it is hands down one of the best things I've ever put on my face! You can read my full review here.

If you know me then you know how madly in love with everything Pandora I am. I was lusting after this ring for months but it was constantly out of stock. However, on my birthday (on NYE) my Mum and Dad surprised me with this little beauty. It's so sparkly and I love it so much I've even ordered the matching necklace to wear with it.

Oooh helloooo Michael Kors Medium Selma handbag in Pearl Grey!! I saw this way back in October when I was shopping at Westfield and instantly regretted not buying it as soon as I left. I searched online for weeks but couldn't find it anywhere as it was part of the SS16 new season range. However, being the incredibly lucky girl I am, my lovely boyfriend treated me to this for my 20th last month.

Last but not least is the most beautiful eye shadow palette you will ever set your eyes on... The Morphe 35W! This is the first Morphe product I've ever had and it certainly won't be the last. For £15 I've got 35 beautiful colours to play with from mattes to glitters and they are super pigmented too meaning no matter how many eye looks I play around with, I won't be running out any time soon. A definite must-have for all make up lovers!

It's Time To Get POREfessional | Benefit Cosmetics

One of the most exciting things about working for Benefit Cosmetics is when new products are launched and we can get our hands on them and try them out before they go on sale.

If you've heard of the POREfessional Primer (if not, where have you been hiding?) you would know its the best primer in the UK as it is the number 1 best seller. Alongside the primer we have the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine Powder and the POREfessional License to Blot blotting stick. These products are best known for banishing shine and leaving you oil-free all day.

Now, exciting times ahead shiny gals and guys as Benefit have now launched two new members to the POREfessional family. Say hello to the POREfessional Matte Rescue and POREfessional Instant Wipeout Masks.

The POREfessional Matte Rescue is an invisible-finish mattifying gel that absorbs excess surface oil, leaving a natural-looking matte finish. One of the main ingredients in Matte Rescue is diamond powder which is known for its soft-focus blurring effects as it instantly minimises the look of pores.

An amazing little tool Benefit have also bought out alongside the Matte Rescue is the Matte Rescue Shine Level Test.

This allows you to hold 'test 1' against your shiny areas (nose, chin, forehead) for a few seconds to see how shiny your skin really is. You then apply Matte Rescue to said area and then go back with 'test 2' to check your shine levels again. Matte Rescue is fantastic and it does exactly what it says its going to do. The gel feels cool and refreshing on the skin and will be definitely be a part of my daily routine. Teaming the gel followed by the primer really would create the most flawless, shine free base for your make up and throughout the day. Alternatively, if you don't wear make up, fear not as the gel can be worn on its own to banish away those pesky pores and can even double up as a moisturiser as it also helps to maintain skin moisture.

My test 1 showing high shine before any products were applied and test 2 showing low shine after Matte Rescue was applied.

Next up is the new POREfessional Instant Wipeout Masks. The masks are duel-sided which cleans out and smoothes the look of pores around your nose, forehead and chin. The box contains 8 masks and you are advised to use them once to twice a week meaning they would last you a minimum of a month.

The masks come in packaging which I've never seen before containing a 'press' button which you must press to release the serum into the mask before you open it. I love this idea as for me it just feels a lot more fresh. Once the pore serum has been released, you can peel back the corner and apply the mask, smoother side down, to the problem area. After 10 minutes you then remove the mask and use the other side to wipe over the area meaning there is no need to rinse or wash your face after. Mess free - perfect!

The masks contain mushroom extract which is known to clarify pores and the masks do exactly that. Just like the Matte Rescue, they feel cool and refreshing on the face and actually feel like they are doing something. My pores were almost non-existent after using the mask and my skin felt soo smooth and soft.

Of course, I may be a little biased as I work for Benefit Cosmetics but these products really are amazing and with the Matte Rescue retailing at £21.50 and the Instant Wipeout Masks at £24.50, you really can't go wrong and I would thoroughly recommend these to anyone!

Estee Lauder Double Wear | Review

Surprise, surprise... I've fallen in love with yet another foundation!

I am always on the look out for products to try and I love getting recommendations from people. After hearing plenty of great things about Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation I had to give it a go. So, off I toddled to the lovely lady who works at the counter in the Boots store I work in. She gave me a colour match and instantly knew my shade and gave me a sample to try it out. Let's just put it this way, I wore it once and bought it the following day. *love heart emoji*

If you don't like full coverage and want a light weight foundation then this isn't the one for you. Alternatively, if you're like me and love a full coverage then this needs to be on the top of your wish list! The consistency of the foundation is a lot thicker than one I've ever used before but is certainly not a downfall of the product as it gives me a full coverage and flawless base without looking caked-on. They have an amazing range of shades to choose from including neutral, warm and cool tones which makes getting that perfect match even easier.

I have normal to oily skin with my t-zone being the problem area often leaving me with patchy make up not even half way through the day where it has rubbed off or I just look like an absolute grease ball! However, even without using my setting spray I have none of these problems with Double Wear and have had many compliments on my flawless base since using it. I couldn't recommend this foundation enough and it really has set the standard high for when I potentially look for foundations to try out in the future but I love this foundation so much I can't see myself looking for one to replace it with!

The bottle and packaging is classy and definitely looks and feels like a premium product especially with the glass bottle. I was a bit gutted, however, when I found out it didn't have a pump or any other application tool. With my first few uses of using the foundation I found I was wasting a lot of product as I'm so used to pumps on all the products I've used before however I now know the amount I need to pour out so don't tend to waste any now but it does take a bit of getting used too.

Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation retails at £30 which I would personally say is a reasonable amount for a premium brand and if you're on a budget it is 100% worth saving and spending those few extra pennies!

New Buys | MAC Velvet Teddy & Spice

I love to hate the Kylie Jenner lip trend with the obsession with huge, oversized lips but one thing I do like is the lip colours she uses. MAC's Velvet Teddy lipstick is one of her go-to's and instantly sold out everywhere but at long last I've finally got my hands on it to see what all the hype is about.

I'm definitely a lipstick kinda gal and nudes are always my go-to everyday shades so of course I had to jump on the Velvet Teddy bandwagon and I'm so glad I did. I also got MAC's lip liner in Spice as I prefer a more brown-nude as opposed to a pink-nude. Velvet Teddy is a matte lipstick (my fave kind) and is one of the most gorgeous nude colours I have tried so far. It glides on well and doesn't seem to be too drying unlike other MAC matte lipsticks I've tried such as Russian Red. I'm pleased I picked up the Spice lip liner too as it compliments VT really well and I know it will also go well with my other nudes. A winner all round really and money well spent!

Have you tried Velvet Teddy and/or Spice? If so, what did you think and what are your go-to nude shades?
